First, all transactions are sent via 128-bit encryption and credit card security codes (CSCs) are supported for additional protection. All stored credit card and password information is also encrypted to ensure security even if an intruder or rogue employee gains direct access to the database.

To help prevent both deliberate and accidental modifications from within the store, Elastic Path Commerce provides fine-grained control over administrator and CSR permissions. In addition to full control at the task level, permissions can be restricted to specific stores, catalogs and warehouses. So employee authorizations can be tightly regulated based on each employee's precise needs, experience and level of trust.

Finally, Elastic Path Commerce automatically provides a comprehensive, tamper-proof history of every order throughout its entire life cycle within the system. From the moment an order is created, every event including line item changes, shipping changes, refunds, exchanges and funds captures generates a detailed audit record.
