Integrations Hub Q&A with Senior Product Manager Scott Johnstone

written by Abisola Adeyemo

While embracing a Composable Commerce approach comes with a myriad of benefits for brands, the complexity of integrating and operating a multi-vendor solution while also running mission critical commerce is daunting, time consuming and expensive in its own right.

Not only do integration costs account for 60% of integration budgets, traditional commerce implementations can take upwards of 18 months to launch, leaving revenue on the table as shoppers are left with sub-par experiences.

That is why at Elastic Path we are excited to launch Integrations Hub. Integrations Hub reduces the time, resources and costs risks of Composable Commerce.

I sat down with our Senior Product Manager Scott Johnstone to learn more about Integrations Hub.

1. Q: What is Integrations Hub?

A: Integrations Hub is a commerce-enabled library of no-code integrations that are instant-on and fully managed and hosted by Elastic Path. It provides a central place for users to deploy integrations in just a few clicks. Commerce components such as search, order management, fulfillment, etc are pre-built and easy to plug together.

2. Q: Could you give us an overview of how easy it is to enable an integration?

4. Q: How does this help brands?

A:

5. Q: How does Integrations Hub impact implementation costs?

A:

6. Q: How  is Integrations Hub unique in the market? How is it different than any other accelerator?

A: Unlike standard accelerators, Integrations Hub integrations are complete. The hosting, logging, monitoring is baked in, and they self configure. For example, the Algolia integration I mentioned previously is configured in Elastic Path Commerce Cloud by setting up the event webhook triggers, extending the platform with mapping flows and adding in all the most common field mappings.

All you need to do is publish your catalog and all of the product data is setup inside of Algolia. Normal accelerators are blocks of code that you download, deploy to your hosting environment of choice and your devOps team them maintains and monitors it as a standalone application and it is one of many they will have to deploy and maintain.

Integration hub integrations are deployed within our IPaaS and are hosted by us, and logging and monitoring is baked in and available right in our  business user tooling Commerce Manager. They are also specifically built for commerce.

7. Q: What is next for Integrations Hub?

A:
