Elastic Path Product Experience Manager Launches Price Book and Pricing Imports!

written by Dan Morley

We are thrilled to announce a great addition to our existing bulk pricing capabilities in Product Experience Manager. This major enhancement empowers businesses with a seamless way to manage any extensive pricing strategies and streamline how you manage product pricing.

Key Feature Highlight: Create & Update Price Books and Prices

Not only are you able to create new price books, you can update existing ones too. This feature allows you to set up to 50,000 prices for a given price book; making it all that much easier to update your prices in bulk, or create a new price list from scratch!

External Reference Field

One of the standout components of this feature is the introduction of the "external reference" field. The external reference field can be found in both the price book itself, along with the pricing entries within the price book. This new field is pivotal in simplifying the import process and enhancing data integrity. With this new unique field you ensure you’re updating the correct price or entry.

Pricing Features Supported by Pricing Imports:

  • Standard prices
  • Multiple currency support
  • Sales pricing
  • Volume pricing

Benefits of the External Reference Field:

  • Match & Reference Objects: The external reference field serves as a linchpin for your import operations. It allows you to easily match and reference objects within your import file, ensuring accuracy and consistency in your pricing strategies.
  • Enhanced Data Mapping: With external reference, you can effortlessly map and link pricing entries and price books, eliminating guesswork and reducing the risk of errors during the import process. If your SKU changes then no need to make any adjustments to your source file.
  • Supported Import Format: "The import price books and prices" feature in Product Experience Manager is designed to cater to your diverse needs. It adheres to industry-standard JSONL (JSON Lines) format and guidelines, offering you flexibility and compatibility with a wide range of data sources.
