How we hire

Our how we hire guide will provide you with all that you need to know about our standard hiring processes at Elastic Path and offer some tips on how you can prepare for our interviews.

1. Apply!

We’re excited you’re here, and thrilled you’re considering joining the Elastic Path team! Once we have received your application, one of our recruiters will reach out to you by email if we feel your skills and experience are a good match for the opportunity. Our application screening process can take just a few days or in some cases, up to two weeks. If you are shortlisted, we will schedule an initial screen with a Recruiter via Zoom as a first step.

2. Initial screen

If shortlisted, you will be contacted by email to schedule a video call to speak with one of our recruiters so we can get to know you better!

During this call, the recruiter will provide a quick overview of the role, our company and culture as well as inform you of what steps to expect in the hiring process. You will be asked some general questions to help us better understand your skills & experience related to the role as well as gather your motivations, availability to start, salary expectations and any other information related to the role requirements.

The intention of this initial step is two-fold; to provide you with everything needed to ensure our company and the role matches what you are looking for, as well as obtain all the information required to present you with a competitive offer, should you make it to the final steps of our hiring process.

3. Hiring manager interview

The next step of the interview process is to meet with the Hiring Manager.

During this step, the hiring manager will go more in depth about the role, overall responsibilities, typical day-to-day, team structure, impact as well as upcoming projects & goals. You will be required to answer role-related behavioral interview questions and present answers with specific examples of your experience. It is key to think about “Why Elastic Path,” and be ready to share what excites you about our company and the opportunity.

You will have the chance to ask questions and we highly encourage you to prepare and bring role-specific questions to this interview.

4. Assessment

Assessments are only required for certain roles.

The recruiter will communicate if an assessment is part of the hiring process during the initial screen, and at which step the assessment takes place.

If required, you can expect a take-home assessment OR instructions to prepare for a live assessment, to be completed during the next interview step.

All assessments are role-specific. Our assessments help hiring managers and teams to evaluate your practical and/or technical skills to ensure they match the required level of skill for the role.

5. Hiring team interview

The next step of the hiring process is to meet with other team members, in a panel style interview.

During this step, the team will ask behavioral and technical questions about your knowledge, skills and previous experience. For certain roles you can expect a live assessment (for example: live coding, mock demos, etc.) to be conducted during the interview or if completed in advance, to be reviewed with the team and followed up with Q&A on your submission.

When scheduling this interview step, the recruiter will inform you in advance of how to prepare and what to expect during the interview.

As with each hiring step, you will be given a chance to ask questions, so please come prepared with specific questions for the team.

6. Final round interview

The final step of the hiring process is a quick meeting with the hiring manager or, in some cases, a leader from our executive team. We call this the “wrap-up” chat before the final offer decision is made to go over any questions or additional information related to the role, team, and company.

If there are any outstanding items, questions or concerns, this is the opportunity to raise them!

7. Offer

We’ve reached the final decision! If you are here, we think you’re awesome and know that you’ll be an amazing addition to the Elastic Path team!

A recruiter will be in touch with you to schedule a time to chat and provide you with a verbal offer to join Elastic Path! They will go over the high level details of the offer including start date, salary, options and the geographic-specific benefit package offerings*. If in agreement, we will email you an employment agreement including an in-depth benefit package summary* and other FAQ documents.

During this call you’ll have the opportunity to discuss the start date, and ask questions pertaining to our benefits and employee programs.

*applies only to certain positions

8. New hire onboarding

Once you've accepted the offer and returned the signed employment agreement, our people & culture team will provide you with all the onboarding information you need prior to your start date.
