  • Web analytics is a bit like accounting, even if you're not the web analyst you need to have a basic understanding of what it is and why you need analytics. Avinash Kaushik posted 3 videos from internet marketing gurus on Segmentation, Site Search and Quantifying Economic Value that you should check out even if you're not the full time web analyst.
  • A very important (but more complicated) task in web analytics is solving the problem of ROI attribution which is complicated when the web drives phone sales, for example. Ryan Gibson from Rimm Kaufman Group asks "What would your paid search program look like if it was missing 50% of the sales dollars that it was generating?" and of course, answers the question.
