Inside Elastic Path with Sofiya Minnath

Our Inside Elastic Path Series is proud to feature Sofiya Minnath, a Senior Technical Writer who has been with Elastic Path for the last four years. Learn about what Sofiya loves about working at Elastic Path, what she is most proud of working at our company, and her role as a Senior Technical Writer.

Q: In your role, what are you most proud of?

Sofiya: I am proud to be an essential component of our products as I do most of the documentation which makes the product “sellable and usable.” People look for what the product offers, so having documentation that stands out is very important. I try to keep the documentation to be competitive in the industry and helpful for our customers.

Q: How would you describe the culture at Elastic Path?

Sofiya: The culture at Elastic Path is very open and warm. There is a support system that continues to encourage me to do my work. I was going through a very rough time, mentally and physically, and if I was somewhere else, I don’t think I would have survived. Elastic Path is also very open to personal career goals, great mentors like Alann and Patrick, take time out of their busy schedule and help us learn new skills.

Q: How has your experience been since shifting to remote work? Have you felt supported?

Sofiya: Working remotely has been wonderful. Elastic Path takes an extra step to make sure we have the platforms, such as email, zoom, and slack to connect with one another remotely. I find myself not getting lost with the work being remote, due to the online interaction I have with coworkers.

Q: Thinking back, what were the reasons that made you join Elastic Path? What are the reasons you choose to stay?

Sofiya: I joined Elastic Path, because I felt motivated by the people around me that had the passion to do better. I was also excited to join and continue to stay, due to the positive energy, and the constant dedication I get from other employees made me grow as an individual. Above all, I love how everyone around me makes sure we all grow together by helping each other.

Q: What would you say to someone that is considering on applying?

Sofiya: If you are considering on applying, I would say this company is the place for you. If you are the type of person who wants to continue to learn and grow every day, our company allows you to grow individually. My manager has been there to support me, and the company is the perfect place to find your career path that takes you in the direction in where you want to grow. Elastic Path also takes your goals you set for yourself and helps you get there. Overall, this company is fabulous to work here!
