Social Responsibility
At Elastic Path we foster a culture that gives back to local and global communities through our pocketbooks and our actions. Our employees, including executives, actively participate in our social responsibility initiatives.
Charities and organizations that we support
Coffee Farmer Cooperatives in Burundi
Elastic Path employees helped fund infrastructure that enables the coffee farmer cooperatives to perform the initial steps of coffee bean processing in Burundi. This has the potential to raise the incomes of hundreds of Burundi families by 50-100% in the next several years. Elastic Path President and COO Gord Janzen flew to Burundi to visit the local coffee farmers.
Invisible Children (Uganda and Rwanda)
Elastic Path supports the Invisible Children program to help children affected by the war in Uganda and Rwanda. We also support Schools for Schools, a program that creates long-term development in the economy and schooling systems. Elastic Path CEO Harry Chemko spent time travelling in Uganda and Rwanda to meet the children affected by the civil war.
United Way
The Elastic Path team used their ecommerce expertise to launch www.imaginegifts.ca for The United Way. This site allows donors to purchase gift donations on behalf of their friends and families.
Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF)
Elastic Path CEO Harry Chemko is an active board member of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation, a national charity that provides pre-launch coaching, business resources, start-up financing, and mentorship to help youths (age 18-34) start a business.
Salvation Army Adopt-a-family
In the season of giving, the Elastic Path team donates a Christmas hamper complete with a full turkey dinner and toys to low-income families each Christmas.
TryCatch
Elastic Path Software is a proud supporter of Try/CATCH (Computing and Technology Conference for Her), an exciting outreach project organized by the Women in Computing Science (WICS) at Simon Fraser University to help high school girls develop an interest in computing science and the field of technology. Throughout these events, students participate in a variety of enriching and fun activities focusing on developing skills in areas such as programming, robotics, and other computing-related aspects.
